interior architect

After completing an architectural technical study, Tom graduated in 2004 as an interior architect at the University of the Arts in Utrecht. He moved to Vienna in 2006, and worked at various offices including “Vasko&Partner ingenieure” and “BEHF Corporate Architects. He moved back to the Netherlands in 2015 and began working at XS architects. ‘My aim is to look for creative solutions in architecture with a positive outlook on life’. A major drive in this is my desire for innovation, which is expressed in gathering knowledge and researching new materials and shapes. At XS Architecten I can fully indulge myself in this by thinking “out of the box”, constantly seeking new boundaries and developing myself further as a designer and person. My empathy for spaces and people comes in handy here. I am also the father of two boys who absorb the necessary but oh so present energy. They are my first big drive in life! Further passions include astronomy, technology, good food, fine wines, mountains and mushrooms.
